Seashells and Silk - botanical dyed silk scarf
Hand dyed using natural colours of sequoia and indigo, this scarf has beautiful shimmering patterns in coppery brown, blue, white and gray green. Diagonal patterned lines and repeated shapes at each end have been created using knotting and clamped blocks as resists. The effect of these intersecting patterns and colours reminds of the markings on seashells I would find as a child on the beaches where I grew up.
This is a large but very lightweight silk scarf with a soft ethereal drape. It can be worn looped, knotted, draped, hooded or as a light shawl. Wear this scarf in a variety of ways - silk offers warmth in winter and coolness in the summer.
